Bern Anesthesia Associates (NBAA) provide
comprehensive high quality anesthesia services for
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures throughout the
Craven Regional Medical Center and Craven Surgery
Center. This includes the 12 operating rooms at the
hospital, the six-rooms at the Ambulatory Surgical
Center, the Labor and Delivery suite, and various
locations throughout the hospital. We provide
anesthesia for pediatric surgery, cardiac surgery,
obstetrics, orthopedics, vascular, thoracic and
general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology,
ENT and oral surgery. Anesthesiologists participate
in the management of patients in the Post-Anesthesia
Care Units and provide emergency airway management
assistance throughout the hospital.
Services we offer:
Craven Regional Medical Center
We provide
the anesthesia services for all surgery
performed in the main operating room suite
which includes ENT, general surgery,
neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, urology,
gynecology, and oral surgery. The
anesthesia process includes the preoperative
interview, intra-operative management, post
anesthesia care unit recovery, and an acute
post-operative pain service.
Adult Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Anesthesia
We provide
anesthesia for the full range of
cardiothoracic surgical procedures including
minimally invasive and off pump coronary
artery surgery, coronary bypass grafts,
valve replacements, peripheral and major
vascular surgery, and thoracic and aortic
surgery.
Regional Anesthesia
Regional
anesthesia is very much a part of everyday
anesthesia practice. It is used as either
the sole anesthetic or in combination with
general anesthesia, or intravenous sedation,
and as a postoperative pain relief modality
for all of the surgical subspecialties.
Obstetric Anesthesia
We participate in
the care of expectant mothers through an
active pre delivery anesthesia consultation
service. Then we provide epidural or spinal
pain relief to laboring mothers, and
regional or general anesthesia for caesarian
sections as needed.
Craven Surgery Center
Our Ambulatory
Surgery Center has six operating rooms and
spacious preoperative and recovery areas.
The Center efficiently accommodates a large
number of patients for a variety of
outpatient surgical procedures. We provide
anesthesia for pediatric patients undergoing
ENT, eye, dental, general, and urologic
surgery and for adult patients scheduled for
ophthalmologic, ENT, general surgery,
podiatric, orthopedic, neurosurgery,
gynecology, and oral surgery.
